Our New Year's Trip
Over New Year's weekend we went to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas with Alexander's Uncle and Aunt. We had a wonderful time, almost perfect weather, and got some really great pictures of the area.
Noah & Christopher at the top of the waterfall we hiked up to.
Playing with some sticks when we took a break from hiking.
View from our balcony one evening as the sun was setting.
The area was experiencing some flooding ~ log jam on a trail near one of the fishing holes the guys went to.
Sunrise on the morning the guys went fishing.
Another evening at sunset.

Monday, Monday
Well I think that Chris and I are finally over our spring colds - Noah still is coughing a bit and has a slight fever this morning, but he says that he feels good.
Yesterday was gorgeous, so we opened the windows and aired everything out while we were gone all day. Came home to change clothes quick and went for a drive over to Thunderbird Falls. We were hoping that the snow would be melted off so that we could hike up to the falls, but the trail was still packed full of snow. So we came back to town and played at the park for a while, and even walked around the whole park.
With all the fresh air, the boys slept pretty good last night!

A first for us!
I didn't feel that great this morning (think I'm coming down with a cold, ugh), so I went back to bed after Alexander went to work. About 20 mins. later, I got to experience my first earthquake! There was a big rumble and the building did shake a little bit. The boys slept right through it!
Apparently this happens pretty often; http://www.adn.com/2010/04/07/1215816/southcentral-feels-46-earthquake.html
A lot of people think it sounds like a train, but we've lived near RR tracks and have tracks about 1/4 mile away right now, and I don't think that the quake this morning sounded anything like a train!
So I guess this will be the first of many!

It's Spring!
So a couple of days ago we took a drive around town and we saw the willow bushes starting to bud! Most of the snow is completely melted off, though there's still a huge ice shelf in front of our building.
We've really enjoyed getting out to the park after Alexander gets home from work. The first few times we went, Christopher was walking the whole thing, and then one day he decided he wanted to be carried. It didn't take long before we decided thirty extra pounds was a lot to carry almost two miles, so we got an umbrella stroller for him. It's kind of cute because Noah trades off between running and pushing the stroller!
Last Friday morning, we went over to the parsonage and I gave Sarah (our pastor's wife) a pie making lesson. The kids had a blast playing together (they have two), and the boys immediately crashed for naps when we got home.
Got up early for church on Sunday. Alexander volunteered to play the trumpet for Easter services - one at 8am and the other at 10:30am. Afterward we went over to Pastor and Sarah's house for lunch. They had an Easter egg hunt for the kids which Noah loved. Since that Friday, all he'd been asking was when we could go back to Meridith's house!
Hope everyone else had a great Easter!
